Dr. Shweta Iyer was invited as a speaker to the SAMS Tristate Chapter’s Annual Gala. Dr. Iyer is a pediatric emergency medicine fellow finishing up her training at NYU Langone Health. She spoke about her first experience volunteering with SAMS in a medical mission to refugee camps in Northern Lebanon in July 2018. Dr. Tarek Zetoune, SAMS Tristate Chapter president, who also joined our compassionate care team as a hospice pediatrician, spoke about his experience working in the refugee camps in Lebanon and treating vulnerable children.
