Migration and displacement have long been a feature of our world. In this session, we will explore the implications of a cataclysm like the Syrian refugee crisis for our Emergence Medicine community. We will base the session on the experience last July of four NYU emergency medicine physicians who went for one week to Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon: Drs. Rana Biary, Shweta Iyer, Laura Papadimitropolos and Martin Pusic. We will also be joined by Dr. Yervant Ichkhanian from the American University of Beirut, who volunteered during the mission as an interpreter.
